Expanded Programme of Immunization (EPI)

The aim of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation in South Africa (EPI-SA) is to prevent death and limit the suffering from diseases of childhood that can be forestalled by vaccination of children and women.

Advice on breastfeeding and formula feeding

The decision to breastfeed or formula feed your baby is an individual one. Thankfully through our health experts and counsellors, we can weigh the pros and cons of each option and help you decide what is best for you.

Elimination of Mother to child transmission (EMTCT)

We assist pregnant mother to achieve and sustain the EMTCT of HIV, syphilis, chagas disease, and perinatal hepatitis B during and after pregnancy. We embraces the principles and guidelines of action of the Strategy for Universal Access to Health (WHO).

Blood Type

Knowing your blood type could save your life. In case of an emergency, physical victims may have to receive a sudden blood transfusion and most individuals, unless they belong to a universal blood group, may only be transfused with blood from matching blood groups types.

Allergies

During an emergency, some individuals may require rapid administration of medicines to remedy a minor or life-threatening situation. Knowing your allergies may be of critical importance as it may avert a reaction that could complicate the provision emergency aid.

Medications

Some prescription medications may interact negatively with others, leading to harmful side effects and complications. Mentioning or stating your current prescription drug on your Medical ID card may come in handy in an emergency situation.

NB: *Medical ID helps paramedics access your critical medical information in an emergency. You can have it as a printed card or set it up on your phone lock screen.
